Brief introduction to ISPQS.

Indian Society for Prehistoric and Quaternary Studies (ISPQS) is an association of professional archaeologists, geologists, pre-historians and historians, and individuals interested in archaeological research.

The society is devoted to studying "prehistoric societies and all aspects of their environment as well as contemporary environment and simple societies with relevance to the past."

The society's journal "Man and Environment", one of the very few standard journals dedicated to archaeological research in India, is well known in the academic community worldwide. The society also publishes occasional monographs.
